My grandma was working on another one when she got sick and passed away. My aunt brought it to me to finish. I haven't finished it yet but it makes me feel so close to her when I am working on it. I love and miss her so much!
This particular blanket in the pictures was for Laini's blessing on the 4th of July. All of the kids in each family have different colored ribbon in the blanket so they know who's is who's.
Laini's is Purple. There is nothing better than seeing these sweet little babies being blessed in all white and they really are the ones that make these blankets complete!
I still need to get a picture with Laini in the blanket, but for now here is just the blanket!
I made this with a very simple stitches. I keep 2 strands together the whole time to keep it thicker. I started with a chain stitch about 55-60 chains( don't do it to tight, it looks better when it is more airy and open) then I go back and do a simple triple stitch in each one. at the end of the row add an additional chain and then start on the next row. keep going until you have about 50-60 rows, then start the shell stitch on the outside, go all the way around and finish with a ribbon about 5/8 inch and go up and down through the holes about 5 rows up. then tie a bow when the ends come together and sew the bow so it doesn't' come apart.
all done
This might sound a little confusing, sorry. Once you get it started you will see how easy it is. If anyone needs or wants me to show them personally, let me know! I would be happy to!

I can't crochet to save my life, so I am in awe, that's BEAUTIFUL! I'm gonna have to send my sister here so she can make me a blanket for Zac's sealing and blessing.
That's beautiful Heather! I just started crocheting and I really enjoy it so far. I don't know how to make the shell stitch yet though :P I can't wait to make this blanket as soon as I find out I am pregnant :)

So I love this blanket.. sooo adorable. I love the hoodie towel too! Very cute! Makes me want to have a baby :)
